Microsoft Explorer Mini Mouse
$60.00
Released September, 2007
The Pros:BlueTrack technology provides excellent tracking support - smooth, consistent tracking is available on virtually any flat surface. Excellent battery life - provides more than 4 months of functionality on a single AA charge. Metallic scroll wheel feels very solid - smooth design enables fast, easy webpage navigation.
The Cons:May not work on certain reflective surfaces - polished wood, glass and mirrored surfaces should be avoided. Forward and back page buttons lack feedback/tactility - users may accidentally trigger these components without wanting to, and vice versa. Lack of button programability severely limits mouse capabilities - can't accommodate individual programs or left-handed people.
The Microsoft Explorer Mini Mouse is a battery-operated, wireless BlueTrack mouse that connects to a Windows or Macintosh PC via a mini USB transceiver. It utilizes Microsoft’s proprietary BlueTrack technology, which works on any surface, including granite countertops, airport carpets, and even a park bench.

Included is a mini USB transceiver that can be snapped onto the bottom of the mouse to turn it off, thereby saving battery life. The major drawback to this is that the transceiver must be removed from the computer and placed back into the mouse every single time that a user wants to shut the mouse off. Additional features include glowing blue lighting effects, 4-way scrolling, and a 4-month battery lifespan.
