SteelSeries Kinzu Optical

$35.00 Released August, 2009

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Slick minimalist aesthetic and design - all black, no individual mouse buttons (integrated into the body). Fairly compact - good for small to medium hand users who like claw / finger grip type control. Great teflon pads - glides smoothly and without any resistance.

The Cons:No side buttons - lacks even forward and back buttons commonly used for browsing. Optical rather than laser tech. Drivers are somewhat basic, lack advanced functionality.

The SteelSeries Kinzu Optical is one of two ambidextrous, high-definition gaming mice (Kinzu Optical, Xai Laser) released in August 2009. The weaker of the two, the Optical lacks its superior sibling’s built-in LCD menu system.

It does however feature offer a finely engineered shape for maximum comfort, a scalable pointer speed up to 3200 counts per inch, and on-the-fly toggle sensitivity (high/low) adjustments. It also supports stored profiles and a customizable report rate between 125Hz-1000Hz. Critics say the Kinzu is light and highly responsive, but it offers too few customizable buttons. And the grip can take awhile to get used to.
